Mini Haggis by Kitty Cantrell

Thanks to artist Kitty Cantrell, who originally sculpted Mini Haggis and Mini Crusher for TIBBP, we now have 5 new little horses to help us raise money for our rescues. Kitty graciously allowed Deb and Randy Buckler to rework Mini Haggis and Mini Crusher and recast them, so here are some very special little horses. These guys are about 4  1/2" tall and about 5" long.  They are limited production and are cast in pure white artists quality resin. They are pictured here with red primer on them so you can see the detail.  I have named these horses to commemorate various TIBBP members and more 'commemorative horses are in the works!  These beautiful little horses sell for $80.  each for unpainted and that includes shipping inside the US. If you want a horse painted, I can help you find an artist that specializes in painting model horses. $25. out of each sale will go to help buy feed and supplies for the rescues we support. Hope you find a horse here who captures your heart!

Miss Cheryl Lee......

Miss Cheryl Lee" is a lovely Shire-type mare, named in honor of Cheryl Reynolds and her daughter Michelle Platt who were absolutely phenomenal in their help and sacrifice to save horses from slaughter. Cheryl, pictured on the far left, took in several pregnant, untrained mares and their colts, while Michelle, next to her, not only also took in horses but she sculpted another little resin horse, "Wee Wyakin" that was hugely popular and raised alot of money to save ALOT of horses. We can never thank them enough. That's Indigo there, with Deb Buckler, too.

Braveheart.....

Braveheart is a courageous stallion, charging through the battle to save lives.  He comes from the mini Haggis mold. Braveheart honors all the TIBBP members, or anyone who who had the faith and courage to open their heart and be brave in rescuing a horse or animal in need. These "bravehearted" people say things like "Yes, I can do this", and they step in and help those less fortunate. In the lower right hand picture, you'll see one of our members, Susan Boyd on her prized Percheron mare, Ice. Beautifu, beautiful Ice escaped the horrors of a slaughterhouse because Susan took her in. Ice is only one of many animals and horses that live a happy life because of Susan's "BraveHeart".  Susan is quite the artist as well! Please visit her site at: http://www.artnanimals.com/  she uses her artwork to help provide for the many living things, people included, that come to her for refuge. I hope you find something you like!

Lady Lydia.....

As I was working on this feisty little mare, a very special TIBBP member was on my mind. "Lady Lydia"  definitely has a little bit of an 'attitude', but that is sometimes what's required to accomplish a task over all odds. Lydia Ernst, and her partner Briggs McNally, have rescued so many horses I have lost count!  And now they are finishing up the paperwork to become their own Non profit rescue. I am so proud of them! They are neighbors on two beautiful ranches in Missouri and for a horse to be lucky enough to go there is an absolute dream. Truly a "Safe Haven", their property looks like something from Heaven. Here's their site: http://www.wonderhorserescue.com/  Lydia is pictured here with her first PMU filly, "Wonder". She named her rescue in honor of this gentle giant who would have ended up on a plate in Asia had she not been rescued by Lydia.

Ian
.....

Probably one of the most significant people in TIBBP has been our "Power behind the Throne", Janice Williford. Janice was our sales manager for our first two years and she helped raise thousands of dollars to help slaughter-bound horses get into safe, loving homes. Janice's energy and organizational skills catapulted TIBBP into the position of being able to help rescues everywhere buy feed and supplies. So we have created "Ian" from the Mini Haggis mold to acknowledge Janice, and I named him "Ian" in honor of Janice's husband who we KNOW sacrificed alot of time with his wife so she could save horses. Janice is pictured on the right with a beautiful collage made by Susan Boyd, commemorating Janice's work for TIBBP. A well-deserved gift from us all.

Jewel for Julie
.....

And last but most certainly not least, here is a wonderful little mare very appropriately named "Jewel for Julie". TIBBP member Julie Barns absolutely rocked when she started her own rescue, The Heart of Dixie Equine Rescue. http://www.heartofdixieequinerescue.com/  Inspired by her first rescue of a beautiful Belgian PMU mare, 'Dixie', that was destined for slaughter, Julie worked night and day to rally the folks in her community and everywhere in the world to bring home MANY horses that would have suffered terrible endings had she not taken them in. I am hoping sales from Jewel for Julie will help send feed and supplies to the Heart of Dixie Equine Rescue. Many special blessings to Julie for all her amazing work.
